Item No. 390. Masur Birch Nautical Compass Star Item.

One beautifully cut Nautical Compass Star design Marquetry Inlay.

I have used Masur Birch for the main body in this piece.

I have also used Boxwood and Black for the small points in the centre, cut into a Sycamore square with Burr Walnut edges.

The main points are Yew Wood with Mahogany and Burr Elm circles.

I've edged the Masur Birch with a black banding. This was then cut into cross grain Elm, with black and Sycamore tiny squares. I then added a Burl Walnut banding.

I then added a Satinwood border with the red wood dots. To finish I used another Burl Walnut banding.
