Item No. 276. Marquetry Inlaid Compass Rose.

For this beautiful piece, I used Boxwood and Black for the centre points, within a Sycamore square and Walnut surround.

I then used Yew wood cut into Pear wood for the Star. For the circles I used Rosewood and Yew Wood. I finished this off with a Black banding into Radiating Cherry Wood. The little triangles were made from Sycamore and Black.

I then used cross grain Rosewood for the Bandings with Yew wood for the core and Rosewood for the little circles.

I thought the Burl Walnut Background complimented the piece beautifully.
